This document contains the text of the Energy Lending Policy adopted in 2019, with an updated version of the technical annexes. With its ambitious Energy lending policy (ELP), the EIB has achieved a milestone in the fight against climate change. We have decided to phase out the financing of unabated fossil fuel energy projects. The Energy Lending Policy agreed in 2019 remains unchanged, and as part of the mid-term-review, the EIB has updated the technical annexes.
