This happened back in 2008 and, more recently, in 2022, when deal activity fell almost everywhere except for the Middle East. bulge-bracket banks , such as JPM, GS, MS, and Citi, always rank well in the league tables. The other bulge brackets (BofA, Barclays, UBS, and DB) tend to rank lower, but this varies each year.
